Spring 2021 In Person Worship Safety Guidelines

At this time, the community of FCC Bristol will be following these safety measures.

  • Everyone will enter through the Narthex/Maple Street front doors of Sanctuary. (An usher will be at the back ramp for those with accessibility needs who wish to use the elevator.)
  • Masks will be required to enter the building and must be used the entire time you are in the building.  Masks should fit snuggly over nose and mouth.  Face shields may be worn however are not a substitute for face masks.
  • By the entrance, there will be a “welcome” table with hand sanitizer, additional masks, and paper bulletins along with a new offering box.
  • Please consider bringing your tablet or smart phone and your electronic bulletin.  The guest wifi password will be available on the “welcome” table.
  • Please bring your own headphones for use with the hearing assist system.
  • Windows and doors will remain open for airflow.  Please dress accordingly.
  • Pews have been marked to maintain 6 foot spacing between those gathering for worship.  You are highly encouraged to sit only with your household.
  • The worship service will be streamed (broadcast/recorded) so please be aware that whenever the organ is playing or the congregation is invited to speak in unison, the area microphones, which pick up sound from the congregation, will be on.
  • Children are invited to worship with their families.  There will not be Children’s Ministry this spring and summer.
  • During the Passing of the Peace, we will remain in our pews and turn to greet one another.
  • A masked soloist will lead the hymns.  The congregation will be invited to wear their masks and sing quietly along with the hymns.
  • In the beginning, we are asking those worshipping in person to bring their own “bread” and “juice” for communion.  Consider bringing crackers, bread, etc in a sandwich bag and a travel “cup” of water, juice, coffee.
  • The narthex bathroom will be available for use during the service.
  • During the postlude, the in person congregation will be dismissed from back to front.  Please use hand sanitizer on the way out and wash your hands when you get home.
  • In this time, there will not be a time of fellowship.  Kristen will be available in front of the Parish House for those wishing to speak on the way to the parking lot.
  • Please do not gather in the way of others leaving worship – inside or outside.  If you wish to visit with others, please do so on the lawn or parking lot.
